Uttarakhand’s Educational Institutes To Implement ‘Fit India’ Vision Of PM Modi

The groundwork to implement the ‘Fit India’ campaign, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi referenced from the soil of Uttarakhand, has gained momentum.
As part of this initiative, the state government has prioritised educational institutions. In alignment with the Eat Right India campaign, fresh efforts are being made to raise health awareness among students.
The health department has sent letters to five departments, including school education, emphasising the need to take appropriate steps to educate students about balanced diets.
‘Eat Right Thali’ to be Displayed in All Educational Institutions
– Health Secretary Dr R. Rajesh Kumar has sent letters to the secretaries of the departments of school education, social welfare, skill development and employment, Sanskrit education, and technical education. The letter recommends that educational institutions promote the Eat Right Thali through tin plates or display boards. According to Eat Right India campaign’s state nodal officer, Ganesh Chandra Kandwal, the Food Safety and Standards Authority had set food safety standards for schoolchildren in 2020, outlining the essential components of a balanced diet in the Eat Right Thali.
Proposal for Six ‘Eat Right Kitchens’ to be Sent to the Centre
– Under the Fit India campaign, the school education department is preparing a proposal for six Eat Right Kitchens, which will soon be submitted to the central government. According to Kuldeep Gairola, Additional Director of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, these kitchens will be set up in six schools and will serve as modern kitchens. Additionally, messages promoting Fit India and Eat Right will be disseminated through tin plates and display boards. Training programmes are also being proposed to enhance awareness.
