World Fisheries Day is celebrated

Angul 21/11 :- This morning   at the local Mishrapada District level World Fisheries Day has been observed in the outdoor meeting. Dr. Nirod Das, District Chief Veterinary Officer attended the program as the chief guest and highlighted the various schemes of the Animal Husbandry Department and Azolla (^ZOLLA) farming, Gopalan and Kamdhenu schemes etc. Hon’ble Deputy Director of Horticulture Department, Mr. Amber Lugun, joined and discussed various plans of the Horticulture Department and also discussed about vegetable farming along with fruits and vegetables. District Director of Fisheries Mr. Kumar Marshwa motivated Tasmanang to benefit through Integrated Fisheries and Chief Minister’s Agriculture Enterprise Scheme. He called upon the fish farmers to become self-employed by cultivating fish in a scientific manner. He also highlighted how the income of farmers can be doubled. On this occasion, 3 fish farmers who had performed well were honored. More than 100 farmers, women self help group members, fisheries officers of all blocks and entrepreneurial farmers participated in the said meeting. Finally Additional Fisheries Officer Shri Vijay Kumar Sahu thanked everyone.
