NTPC Talcher Thermal Strengthens Rural Healthcare with Mega Health Camp

NTPC Talcher Thermal, in collaboration with Ashalok Hospital, successfully organized a Mega Health Camp at Santhapada Gram Panchayat as part of its community development initiatives on 18th February 2025. The camp aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the residents in the peripheral areas of Talcher Thermal, ensuring improved health access for vulnerable communities.
A team of specialist doctors from Manipal Hospital, Bhubaneswar, was invited to offer free, high-quality medical consultations and diagnostic tests, including blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. The health camp benefited 344 villagers, including women, children, and the elderly, addressing a wide range of health concerns such as chronic diseases, maternal and child healthcare, geriatric care, and general ailments.
Alongside beneficiaries were made aware of hygiene, nutrition, and preventive healthcare. Free medicines were also distributed to the attendees. Many elderly beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for receiving specialized medical care within their village, while women availed of gynecological check-ups and maternal health guidance.
Vijay Chand, Head of Project, at Talcher Thermal, remarked, “At Talcher Thermal, we are committed to the well-being of the communities we serve. This Mega Health Camp is a testament to our dedication to providing accessible healthcare to rural areas. The overwhelming response from the villagers encourages us to continue such initiatives for the betterment of society.”
The Sarpanch of Santhapada Gram Panchayat expressed heartfelt gratitude to Talcher Thermal for organizing the health camp and acknowledged the critical importance of accessible healthcare in rural areas.
Reaffirming its commitment to community welfare, Talcher Thermal announced plans to continue similar healthcare initiatives in the future to enhance public health and well-being.
