Hyderabad, October 5: In a shocking turn of events in Miyapur, 29-year-old B Spandana, a former banker, was brutally murdered by her former classmate Manoj Kumar, also 29. The incident occurred when Manoj, feeling spurned after Spandana rejected his marriage proposal, entered her home armed with a stone and a screwdriver.

While her mother was away, he violently attacked her, first smashing her face with the stone before stabbing her with the screwdriver.

The case came to light on September 30, when Spandana’s mother returned home to find her daughter’s lifeless body. According to a report by the Times of India, initial investigations revealed that Spandana had been living with her mother after separating from her husband due to ongoing harassment. This separation left her vulnerable, and during this tumultuous period, Manoj attempted to forge a closer relationship with her, ultimately leading to the tragic encounter

. Authorities quickly began their investigation, examining call detail records (CDRs) and reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity. As per The Hindureport, police established that Manoj had harboured feelings for Spandana for some time, and his obsession intensified after she repeatedly rejected his advances. His jealousy over her interactions with other classmates further fueled his rage, culminating in the fatal attack.

Following a thorough investigation, police arrested Manoj Kumar on October 4, who confessed to the crime while confirming that his motivations were driven by obsession and the inability to accept Spandana’s rejection. Reports indicate that she had filed a case against her husband prior to her death, seeking to escape the tumultuous relationship.
