Recognition Certificate Handed Over to Nalco Shramik Congress Union
Angul/Nalco Nagar, 06/12 – In a grand ceremony organized today at the Captive Power Plant (CPP) administrative office of Nalco, the Nalco Shramik Congress Union was formally handed the recognition certificate as an accredited trade union by the Nalco management.
The recognition follows the union’s overwhelming victory in the recognition election held on October 4, under the aegis of INTUC. After obtaining approval from the Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, the certificate was formally granted to the union today. The ceremony witnessed the participation of senior officials, including Shri Amrendra Mishra (Group General Manager, CPP), Shri Satyabadi Mishra (Group General Manager, Operations and Maintenance), Shri Subhendu Nayak (Group General Manager, HRD), Shri Prasanna Kumar Sahu (GM, HRD), as well as other department heads, representatives from the Officers’ Association, SC/ST Association, Nalco Employees Sangha, and many employees and excutive of CPP. In his address, Shri Bibhab Jena, General Secretary of Nalco Shramik Congress Union, highlighted key challenges at the CPP, such as shortages of coal, water, fly ash, and manpower. He emphasized the need for local recruitment, land losers’ rights, contract workers’ protection, and adherence to prior online processes for all-India recruitments. He urged the management to take necessary steps for effective resolutions.Shri Santosh Kumar Raut President, and Shri Hemant Pradhan, working President, stressed the importance of harmonious relations between the union and the management. They advocated for regular unit-level and complex-level meetings to address workplace issues effectively.
