Jammu Kashmir Election Result 2024 Updates: Results are in for 79 out of the 90 Assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has won 36 seats, while BJP secured win on 26 seats.
The Congress party won on six seats while Peoples Democratic Party on three. Six independents have also emerged as winners on the assembly polls that took place in three phases on September 18, 25 and October 1.
Earlier in the day, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah announced that the party’s vice president Omar Abdullah will be the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
