South Korean Actress Kim Sae-Ron Found Dead

South Korean actress Kim Sae-Ron has reportedly died at the age of 24. According to the Korean media, Kim Sae-Ron was found dead in her Seongdong-gu, Seoul home on Sunday.

She came to the spotlight for her role in Netflix’s Bloodhounds, Kim had been away from the public eye recently.

 

The Korea Herald reported that actress’ close friend discovered Kim’s body and immediately informed authorities around 4:50-5:00 PM on Sunday, February 16. Police have ruled out any signs of forced entry or foul play and are currently investigating the cause of death.

Investigation Details

 

A police officer told Chosun Biz that no evidence of external intrusion or other criminal suspicions has been confirmed yet. They are currently investigating the reason behind her untimely demise.

 

Kim’s career faced challenges after a DUI incident in May 2022. She was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing into an electrical transformer, causing a neighbourhood power outage. Her blood alcohol level was recorded at 0.2 per cent, leading to the revocation of her driving licence.

Career Impact and Apology

 

Following her arrest, Kim issued an apology both through her agency and in a handwritten letter. She also compensated those affected by the incident. Reports later emerged that she had taken up part-time work at a cafe to cover the damages. Her agency later addressed the matter and confirmed that she was working part-time to support her livelihood.

 

In April 2024, she attempted to make a comeback through theatre but withdrew due to ongoing controversies and health issues. Later that year, in November, reports suggested she had signed on for a new film titled Guitar Man, but no further updates followed.

Kim began her acting career as a child artist and gained widespread recognition through critically acclaimed projects such as A Brand New Life, The Man From Nowhere, and Bloodhounds.
