IND vs ENG Cuttack Tickets: Fans Panic As Stampede Scare Hits 2nd ODI Ticket Sale

Chaos unfolded at Barabati Stadium in Odisha’s Cuttack as cricket fans rushed to secure tickets for the India-England ODI cricket match.

The overwhelming rush led to stampede-like situation, with fans fainting and struggling to stay upright.

The disarray was attributed to inadequate crowd management, prompting locals to voice frustration over poor planning and lack of facilities. Fans were critical of the absence of basic amenities and proper exit routes.

Long queues formed overnight, with fans camping out to see Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in action. The match marks their first appearance at Barabati Stadium in five years. When ticket sales began, the situation quickly deteriorated.

Local police, led by DCP Jagmohan Meena, deployed multiple platoons to manage the crowd and ensure safety. Officials have urged fans to remain calm during ticket purchasing, emphasizing the need for a safe and composed atmosphere.

To prevent future disruptions, authorities are streamlining the ticketing process. As the situation evolves, officials remain committed to ensuring a smooth experience for cricket enthusiasts at Barabati Stadium.

“The entry and exit of people will be regulated through four designated gates, with personnel stationed to manage security and sanitation,” DCP Meena stated.
