Mamta Kulkarni Fires Back At Baba Ramdev And Dhrendra Shastri, Says, ‘He Asks His Guru About…’

Former Bollywood actress, Mamta Kulkarni has been hogging all the headlines since the news of her embarking on her spiritual journey broke out on January 24, 2025, at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
She was made the ‘Mahamandaleshwar’ in the Kinnar Akhara with the actress’ coronation ceremony. She reportedly performed the Pind Daan at the holy Sangam. However, days later, the former actress and Laxmi Narayan Tripathi were both removed from the Kinnar Akhara.
Mamta Kulkarni claps back at Baba Ramdev
Mamta Kulkarni has been at the centre of all the drama since she denounced her materialistic life and joined the Kinnar Akhara as the Mahamandaleshwar at Maha Kumbh Mela. Recently, the actress appeared on Aap Ki Adalat and targeted Baba Ramdev and Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham with her remarks. Aiming at Baba Ramdev, the former actress stated that the former should fear Mahakal and Mahakali after Baba Ramdev questioned the process by which Mamta was appointed the Mahamandaleshwar. He stated:
“One does not attain sainthood in a day; it requires years of rigorous penance. Nowadays, I see people being randomly given the title of Mahamandaleshwar. This is not how it works.”
The comment did not sit well with Mamta Kulkarni, and she spit fire during her appearance at the show, Aap Ki Adalat. She stated that she was unsure of what to say to Baba Ramdev and that he should fear the almighty. The former actress used the stage to show her dismay with the criticism that has been directed towards her. She was quoted saying:
“What should I even say to Baba Ramdev? He should fear Mahakal and Mahakali.”
Mamta Kulkarni’s firey response to Dhirendra Krishna Shastri
Baba Ramdev was not the only one on Mamta Kulkarni’s target. She next aimed at Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, who also voiced his opposition, questioning the legitimacy of the title being granted to Mamta. The spiritual guru had previously asserted that such honours should be reserved for individuals who truly embody the spirit of a saint. Mamta once again didn’t hold back and stated:
“Dhirendra Shastri is just a naive boy. I have meditated for as long as he has been alive-25 years. I suggest he ask his guru about who I am and stay silent.”
Amid the ongoing controversy, Rishi Ajay Das, who is the founder of Kinnar Akhara, expelled both Mamta Kulkarni and Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi from the Kinnar Akhara. The decision came after the controversial appointment of Mamta as Mahamandaleshwar, which was alleged to have been made without the founder’s consent.
