According to reports, the Modi government has prepared a proposal to increase the existing limit for employees from ₹15,000 to ₹21,000.
This limit was introduced by the government in 2014, and it has been 10 years since then. This is why it is believed that the central government may consider changing this rule considering the changed times and inflationary pressures.
If this proposal is passed in Parliament, it will be good news for private employees. Increasing the pension calculation limit under EPFO will benefit employees. If the pension limit reaches ₹21,000, employees could receive an additional ₹2,550 in monthly pension.
