Big News for Pensioners at the End of the Year! Will They Get More Money as per Supreme Court Directive?

After retirement, many people become dependent on their pension (Pension) money. For many, it is the primary source of income for running the household.

Now, there’s big news for pensioners! The demand has been raised to implement the Supreme Court-approved increased pension scheme as soon as possible.

Huge Demand Regarding Pension!

According to reports, in November 2022, the Supreme Court gave a ruling on this matter. It stated that existing employees can opt for a higher pension under the Employees Pension Scheme (EPS) 1995. Now, the demand has been made to immediately implement this ruling by RSP MP NK Premachandran.

It is reported that Premachandran (NK Premachandran) raised this issue during Zero Hour. He stated that employees under EPS 1995 are entitled to a higher pension. According to reports, by August 7 this year, 17,48,775 applications had been submitted for higher pensions, but only 8,401 people have been granted a higher pension by EPFO.

It is noteworthy that in November 1995, the Employees Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS 95) was launched. This is a “social security initiative” aimed at meeting the retirement needs of employees in the organized sector. The scheme is administered by EPFO. Through this, pension (Pension) benefits are provided to eligible employees who are 58 years old.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Arun Govil raised the issue of social security and standard contracts for technicians and support staff in the film and television industry. He claimed that producers are exploiting these individuals. Even the contracts are controlled by the producers. Therefore, he emphasized that labor laws should be applied to such workers, and they should be paid the proper amounts for provident funds, health benefits, and overtime.
