PM Modi To Inaugurate LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana On December 9th: Empowering Women With Job Opportunities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Life Insurance Corporation of India’s Bima Sakhi Yojana in Panipat, Haryana. This event, scheduled for Monday, will also see the presence of Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

The scheme aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision to empower women for a developed India.

 

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Job Opportunities

 

The Bima Sakhi Yojana aims to provide rural women with job opportunities as insurance agents. Women participating in this program will receive financial support of up to Rs 7,000 monthly. This initiative is designed to offer both employment and financial assistance to women in rural areas.

 

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Earnings Structure

Participants will earn Rs 7,000 per month in the first year. This amount will decrease to Rs 6,000 in the second year and further reduce to Rs 5,000 by the third year. Additionally, an extra incentive of Rs 2,100 will be provided. Women can also earn commission-based rewards by meeting insurance targets.

 

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Recruitment Plans

 

Initially, the program plans to recruit 35,000 women as insurance agents. In subsequent phases, it aims to expand and include an additional 50,000 women. The scheme will first launch in Haryana before gradually rolling out across India.

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Eligibility Criteria

 

Women aged between 18 and 50 years are eligible for registration under this scheme. A minimum qualification requirement is passing the 10th grade. Priority will be given to women applicants as part of this initiative.

 

While LIC has not disclosed further details about the scheme yet, it is expected to significantly impact women’s empowerment and employment opportunities across rural India.
