Citizenship can be revoked any day ! Panic among Indian immigrants in USA! Know why?

Donald Trump has defeated Kamala Harris and been re-elected as the President of the United States (USA) for a second term. For the past few days, the world’s attention was focused on the U.S. presidential election.

The question of who would be the next President – Trump or Kamala – was analyzed intensely.

New Update from the USA

Finally, American billionaire Donald Trump has been elected as President. However, his victory has left Indians residing in the U.S. deeply worried. If Donald Trump proceeds to fulfill his pre-election promises, the future of 250,000 people of Indian origin could face uncertainty.

Understandably, Indian-origin residents in the USA are now living in apprehension. Trump had previously issued warnings of strict action against immigrants. Sources indicate that not only are immigrants on his radar, but also those who legally reside in the U.S. on some type of visa.

Republican candidate Donald Trump had said, “On my first day in office, I will bring forth a law that will initiate the largest deportation process in American history.” According to the Constitution of the United States, anyone born in the country automatically gains American citizenship by birthright. However, Trump wants to amend this rule for acquiring American citizenship by birthright.

It is known that on his first day in office, Trump plans to sign an “executive order.” According to this order, immigrant children born in the United States will no longer be American citizens by birth. To qualify for “birthright citizenship,” at least one parent must be an American citizen.

On the other hand, nearly a million Indians are waiting for green cards. Government estimates indicate they may need to wait another 50 years to obtain green card status. By simple calculations, around half a million of them will likely die before reaching that timeline. As a result, due to this new law, approximately 250,000 children of immigrants could lose their citizenship.
