*7 GOVT. FUNCTIONARIES INCLUDING FORMER HORTICULTURIST, PARALAKHEMUNDI, GAJAPATI (RETIRED) CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CORRUPTION CASE*
Today i.e. 29.10.2024, 1) Sri Jagannath Samanta, Former Horticulturist, Paralakhemundi, Gajapati (Retired), 2) Sri Rankanidhi Dakua, Former Field Technician, O/o Horticulturist, Paralakhemundi, Gajapati (Retired), 3) Sri Sabar Pradhan, Former Field Technician, O/o Horticulturist, Paralakhemundi, Gajapati (Retired), 4) Sri Pratap Chandra Pattnaik, Former Grafter, O/o Horticulturist, Paralakhemundi, Gajapati (Retired), 5) Sri Sanatan Gouda, Former Grafter, Kashinagar Block, Gajapati (Retired), 6) Sri Purusottam Behera, Former Grafter, Gumma Block, Gajapati (Retired), and 7) Sri Harihar Nayak, Former Gardener, Nuagada Block, Gajapati (Retired), who were charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a Case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(c)(d) of PC Act, 1988/409/467/468/477-A/34 IPC *for misappropriation of Govt. money entrusted to them for implementation of various horticulture programmes under the jurisdiction of Paralakhemundi unit*, were convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.
The Hon’ble Court sentenced the all convicts namely 1) Sri Jagannath Samanta, 2) Sri Rankanidhi Dakua, 3) Sri Sabar Pradhan, 4) Sri Pratap Chandra Pattnaik, 5) Sri Sanatan Gouda, 6) Sri Purusottam Behera, and 7) Sri Harihar Nayak to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year each and to pay fine of Rs.10,000/- each.
*Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of 1) Sri Jagannath Samanta, 2) Sri Rankanidhi Dakua, 3) Sri Sabar Pradhan, 4) Sri Pratap Chandra Pattnaik, 5) Sri Sanatan Gouda, 6) Sri Purusottam Behera, and 7) Sri Harihar Nayak following their conviction*.
